Douglas swim and dive garners all-region selections

The Douglas High School boys swimming and diving team had multiple athletes receive all-region recognition last week.

The Tigers’ 200-medley relay team of Matthew Yturbide, Matthew Sutton, Baylen Rowlett and Timothy Gleason were honored with a first team all-region selection in the Class 5A North.

Allen Baker earned a first team all-region nod in 1-meter diving while his tiger teammates, Austin Pitts and Kolten Brown, picked up second team honors.

Douglas’ diving coach Eddie Kollar was named as the all-region dive Coach of the Year as well.

Sutton, a sophomore, was awarded second team all-region honors in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Rowlett earned second team recognition.
