Carson track and field posts a handful to all-region team

Carson High School boys and girls track and field took home a bundle of postseason awards based on their finishes at the 2024 regional track and field meet.

The Carson High girls 3,200-meter relay team earned first team all-region honors after winning the regional title this spring.

The foursome of Brianna Rodriguez-Nunez, Vea Miner, Nastasia Sulprizio and Hannah Budd showed their prowess in the distance relay all season long.

They went on to break the school record, which was set last season, with a 9:44.17 at the state meet.

Anne Davis earned first team all-region honors in the girls 100-meter hurdles while her teammate Kaylynn Bloomfield also was a first teamer for the 300-meter hurdles.

Both Davis and Bloomfield were second at the regional meet.

Davis’ quickest time in the event came at the state meet, posting a 16.13.

Bloomfield also went on to run her fastest time of the season at the state meet, finishing in 46.64.

In the shot put, freshman Julie Salanoa was a second team all-region choice based on her finish at regionals.

Salanoa capped her season at the state meet with a personal record toss of 33 feet, 2.75 inches.

Carson’s boys 3,200-meter relay team of Alex Miner, Jaren Thornburg, Quinn Kuchnicki and Sean Thornton earned second team all-region honors in the event.

The grouping posted a season-best time of 8:29.98 at the state meet.
