Polls close at 7 p.m. Carson City Clerk Recorder Scott Hoen expects to have a majority of votes counted tonight, however mail-in ballots can still be accepted through Saturday. Hoen had previously said he expects final results to be available on Sunday. 

As of 10 a.m. 809 Carson City voters had cast their ballots on Tuesday. As of 4 p.m., that number had grown to more than 2,150. Heading into Tuesday, more than 23,300 voters had turned in accepted ballots and voted in person, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office for Carson City voters. As of Oct. 1 there were 39,275 eligible voters in Carson City.

As of 7 p.m., the close of the line for polls, there were reports of lines of more than 2 hours in Washoe County and Las Vegas. Carson City had about a 90 minute wait, Carson City Clerk Recorder told the Appeal at 7:20 p.m.

At 8:45 p.m. Hoen told the Appeal, voters were still at the polling location due to same-day registration. Hoen expected preliminary results near 11 p.m.
