Early voting wrapped up Friday for today's General Election.
In Carson City, more than 23,300 voters had turned in accepted ballots and voted in person, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office. As of Oct. 1 there were 39,275 eligible voters in Carson City.
Election day voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. An additional polling location will be at the Stewart Community Wellness Center and Gym, 465 Clear Creek Ave.
Due to the early error, new ballots were sent to all Carson City voters in mid-October. The envelope says “corrected ballot” on the outside. All mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and can be received by the Clerk-Recorder’s Office no later than four days after the election (Nov. 9).
If voters have already voted using the original ballot, Carson City Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen said those votes will still count if no corrected ballot comes in or the person doesn’t vote in person.
Hoen previously told the Appeal the plan was to keep original ballots and corrected ballots separate. Hoping voters will utilize the corrected ballots, the office will count the corrected ballots first then invalidate original ballots for anyone who used the corrected ballot.
Ballots can be mailed or dropped off at the following locations:
• Carson City Elections Office at the Courthouse
885 E. Musser St., Suite 1025, first floor
• Carson City Hall Lobby
201 N. Carson St.
• Carson City Community Center
851 E. William St.
• Carson Colony Community Center
401 Washoe St.
• Stewart Community Wellness Center and Gym
465 Clear Creek Ave.
