The Fallon City Council approved a liquor license and a parcel split and heard the August Fallon Police Department report on Nov. 5.
The council approved a change of ownership liquor license application by Stephanie Kille-Reese for wine and food bar Bites and Bottles, formerly Bottle and Brie, located at 65 S. Maine St. It also approved an application by Reid Walker for a parcel map change to split his private property at 460 and 470 S. Taylor St. into two parcels.
Fallon Police Chief Ron Wenger read a summary of the department’s August monthly report.
Officers responded to a total of 754 calls for service and reported incidents. The department made 35 total arrests with one felony warrant arrest, four gross misdemeanor arrests, 10 misdemeanor arrests and nine juvenile arrests.
Officers assisted with twenty-five traffic accidents and issued 14 moving citations and 107 traffic warnings.
Special detail included officers attending the National Night Out event, attending the Churchill County High School Back to School kickoff, distributing school supplies at Churchill County’s Community Day event, participating in the “Chauffeur Your Student to School” contest, attending back to school night at Oasis Academy, attending a CCHS football game, facilitating a dog and cat adoption event at the Cantaloupe Festival and conducting a lockdown drill at Churchill County Middle School.
The Fallon Animal Shelter handled 76 animals within the county, 59 animals from the city and two animals from tribal lands. Volunteers in Police Service volunteered 153 hours to the agency.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 9 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 55 W. Williams Ave.
