The first V&T. R.R. passenger car came from Virginia (City) bringing a large party of passengers that included Mr. Sharon, Mr. Grim, Judge Rising, the county commissioners of Storey and others who were on a trial trip that had been through the tunnels and cuts.

The car is very neat and is calculated to accommodate about 30 passengers with seven double seats on each side and single seats at the forward end. Excitement was caused by this arrival and heightened by the coming of the new first-class locomotives “Carson” and “Virginia.” The “Carson” is a very handsome engine, and she was appropriately decorated with American flags.
