The Greenwave volleyball team got back into the win column when it swept Lowry on Friday in Winnemucca.
Fallon (1-2, 3A East) took down the Buckaroos 25-21, 25-9 and 25-19.
The Wave travel to Lyon County this week to face Fernley on Wednesday and Dayton on Friday before returning home Tuesday for a non-league contest against Douglas from the Northern 5A.
SOCCER
The girls soccer team extended its win streak to six after beating Battle Mountain, 16-0, on the road.
Fallon (10-0 3A East) hosts Elko and Spring Creek this weekend, which could give Fallon breathing room atop the standings. Elko sits in second with its only loss coming to Fallon last month in Elko.
In last week’s win over Battle Mountain, Jazelynn Kratz led Fallon with four goals and Kortnie Simper and Karlie Simper each had three. Yasmien Leceste and Kaitlin Goings each scored twice, and Payton Oceguera and Ambreea Snodgrass each had one goal.
Snodgrass also earned the shutout, playing 40 minutes at goalkeeper while Karlie Simper and Emerson Allyn also shared time.
The Greenwave boys improved to 6-3 in the 3A East with a 10-0 win over Battle Mountain on Tuesday in Lander County.
Fallon sits in third behind Elko (6-0-1) and Spring Creek (7-2). The Greenwave travel to Elko County this weekend to face both the Indians and Spartans.
GIRLS GOLF
Playing on its own course, Fallon finished sixth in last Tuesday’s Northern 3A golf tournament.
Truckee won the event with a team score of 381 followed by Lowry with 389. Fallon finished with a score of 453.
Charissa Chenoweth led the Wave with a score of 96 as she was the only one to stay under 100. Megan Johnson finished the day with a 108 followed by Rylie Guerrero with a 119. Madison Gregory carded a 130 and Rochelle Prentice finished with a 141.
The lowest score went to Truckee’s Allison Mortimeyer, who finished with a 72.
CROSS COUNTRY
Jackson Barbee led Fallon on Saturday in the Truckee Cross Country Invitational, a 5,000-meter race at the Ponderosa Golf Course.
Barbee finished the course in 20 minutes, 33 seconds, followed by Lars Rasmussen, 21:49; Tayven Martinez, 22:28; Michael Liston, 22:34; Alexander Sorensen, 23:15; and Isaac Frederick, 23:37.
For the girls, Casandra Hooper led Fallon with a time of 25:12, followed by Rebekah Knight, 25:29; McKayla Taylor, 28:06; Melody Garcia-Bishop, 30:43; Abigail Lacow, 31:04; and Zoe Rasmussen, 44:44.
