NOTICE OF REPORT ON THE PROGRESS

OF NATURAL DISASTER

PROTECTION PLAN

On August 30, 2024, Nevada Power

Company d/b/a NV Energy and Sierra Pacific

Power Company d/b/a NV Energy (together,

“NV Energy”) filed with the Public Utilities

Commission of Nevada (“Commission”) a

second Action Plan Progress Report (the

“Report”), designated as Docket No. 24-

08030, on the progress of its Natural Disaster

Protection Plan (“NDPP”) for the 2024-2026

Action Plan (the “Action Plan”) regarding all

approved projects and programs.

This Notice serves only to notify the

public that the Commission has received the

above-referenced filing. It is the responsibility

of interested persons to review the filing and

monitor the proceedings to determine their desired

levels of involvement based on how this

matter may affect their unique situations. The

details provided within this Notice are for informational

purposes only and are not meant to

be an all-inclusive overview of the filing.

NV Energy filed the Report pursuant to the

Nevada Revised Statutes (“NRS”) and the

Nevada Administrative Code (“NAC”), Chapters

703 and 704, including, but not limited to,

NRS 704.7983 and Section 10 of the regulations

approved by the Commission in Docket

No. 19-06009. Pursuant to NAC 703.5274(2),

NV Energy seeks confidential treatment of

certain information included in the Report.

In the Report, NV Energy explains that

the Action Plan was first approved by the

Commission in Docket No. 23-03003 as part

of NV Energy’s triennial NDPP. NV Energy

states that its Report provides an update to

the Enhanced Fire Season Protocols it filed

with the Commission on July 3, 2024, in

Docket No. 24-07003. NV Energy explains

that the Report specifically includes updated

information regarding: (1) Public Safety

Outage Management Plan; and (2) the new

Emergency De-Energization Wildfire Policy

extend emergency de-energization protocols

statewide. This Action Plan provides progress

on the plan outside of any requests for funding,

which such requests will be addressed in

a future filing of a First Amendment.

Interested and affected persons may file

petitions for leave to intervene pursuant to

NAC 703.578 through 703.600 at either of the

Commission’s offices on or before WEDNESDAY,

OCTOBER 16, 2024.

A person who wishes to participate as

a commenter may file written comments

pursuant to NAC 703.491. A commenter is not

a party of record and shall not take any action

that only a party of record may take. Pursuant

to NAC 703.500, only parties of record are

entitled to enter an appearance, introduce

relevant evidence, examine and cross-examine

witnesses, make arguments, make and

argue motions, and generally participate in the

proceeding.

This Report and Action Plan are available

for public viewing at the Commission’s

website: https://puc.nv.gov; and at the offices

of the Commission: 1150 East William Street,

Carson City, Nevada 89701 and 9075 West

Diablo Drive, Suite 250, Las Vegas, Nevada

89148. A person must request in writing to be

placed on the service list for this proceeding

in order to receive any further notices in this

matter.
