Halloween-themed train rides at Virginia Truckee Railroad

Celebrate Halloween with a spirited collection of themed train rides on the Virginia Truckee Railroad.

Passengers will board at the F Street 1870s Depot in Virginia City and journey to the Gold Hill Depot pumpkin patch.

The Pumpkin Patch train will run Oct. 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 at 11:30 a.m., 1:20 p.m., and 3 p.m., with a 5 p.m. dusk train on Friday, Oct. 18. Fares are $25 for adults and $16 for children ages 5-12 and will include a pumpkin.

The Haunted Halloween Graveyard train features a four-mile, 40-minute route between Virginia City and Gold Hill. Rides will take place Oct. 25, 26 and 31.

Passengers will meet the executioner in the Gold Hill graveyard. Trains depart at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Adult fare is $26, and $19 for children ages 5-12.

Guests are encouraged to dress warmly and wear costumes.
