Sublime with Rome, he California reggae rock band, is on its Farewell Tour and will take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday in Sparks at the Nugget Casino Resort.
Concert-goers can expect to hear Sublime favorites like "Santeria," “What I Got,” “Badfish,” and more classics, as well as songs from Sublime with Rome’s latest self-titled album, including “Wicked Heart” and “Light On,” and a few songs from ROME’s solo project, according to a news release from the band.
After the death of Sublime’s frontman, Bradley Nowell, Sublime bandmates Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh reunited in 2009 with the addition of Rome Ramirez. With Wilson and Gaugh leaving to rebrand Sublime with Nowell’s son Jakob, and Ramirez soon to embark on a solo project called ROME, Sublime with Rome is on the last leg of its last tour. The group has released four albums. Sublime with Rome has over 300 million all-time streams, over 545K monthly listeners on Spotify, and legacy statistics which include 10 million Spotify monthly listeners.
The Huntington Beach-bred Dirty Heads are set to headline Saturday. Since 2001, Dirty Heads have mixed hip-hop, reggae, and rock to create a unique sound that embodies their Southern California roots and resonates with global audiences.
Even though Dirty Heads recently wrapped up its summer tour, the band is continuing to celebrate the digital deluxe release of its record Midnight Control. The record was released in 2023 via Better Noise Music and features 23 tracks, including acoustic versions of hits “Rescue Me,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Island Glow.” There are also three lo-fi versions of album tracks, three unreleased songs and more in addition to all 10 tracks from the original album.
Fans can expect to see the two bands and frequent collaborators share the stage. “Lay Me Down,” the popular Dirty Heads track, features Rome and is RIAA certified Gold. Additionally, Rome and Dirty Heads vocalist/guitarist Duddy B formed a duo in 2020 called Rome & Duddy and released their debut EP, Cactus Cool, last year.
