Carson High boys cross country took 13th as a team at the 45th annual Clovis Invite last weekend.
The Senators competed against 31 schools in the varsity large blue race.
Senior Sawyer Macy was the first Carson runner to finish, taking fifth place in 15:22.5.
Junior Sean Thornton crossed the line in 15:55.9 to take 36th while senior Alex Miner was 66th in 16:15.
Sophomore Quinn Kuchnicki was 106th in 16:36 and fellow sophomore Seth Chalmers finished in 168th in 17:10 of the 217-runner field.
On the girls side, the Senators were 10th of 28 schools in the large blue varsity race.
Junior Brianna Rodriguez-Nunez was the first to finish for Carson, taking 41st in 19:23.
Vea Miner, also a junior, was 45th for the Senators in 19:30.
Jinnie Ponczoch took 61st in 19:41 while Madison Hager was 67th in 19:44.
Anna Shane (11th) and Eleanor Romeo (124th) were the next two Senators runners to finish in the 189-person field.
CARSON GIRLS SOCCER BLANKS RENO
The Carson girls soccer team took care of business against Reno on Saturday with a 2-0 win.
Alondra Carillo tallied the first goal for the Senators early in the match. Grace Turner scored in the second half.
UP NEXT: Carson (7-7-3, 3-6-1) will clinch a postseason berth with a win over Douglas (3-10, 1-9) Tuesday in Carson.
MUSTANGS OVERPOWER DUST DEVILS
Dayton High football couldn’t hang with an unbeaten Pershing County over the weekend, falling 48-8.
UP NEXT: Dayton (2-4) will host North Tahoe (1-5) on Friday.
FERNLEY DOWNS DAYTON VOLLEYBALL
The Vaqueros were able to best Dayton High volleyball in four sets over the weekend – 25-16, 24-26, 25-16, 25-10.
