Douglas High School football put together another solid showing Friday night as the Tigers went on the road to beat North Valleys, 56-32.
From the first play the Tigers had the edge, going roughly 75 yards through the air as Jackson Ovard found ... for six.
Brenton Weston recorded an interception to give the Tiger offense another chance with the ball, which they took advantage of.
Zack Jackson scored the Tigers' second touchdown of the evening, going in front 14-0 early in the second quarter.
The Douglas offense only needs to play on its ensuing drive to find the end zone once again, leading 21-0 early in the second quarter.
"We were striking pretty quick," said Douglas head coach Kyle Mays. "Our offense came out and was able to score in just a couple plays."
On the other side of the ball, North Valleys was able to sustain some decent drives, but Douglas kept them off the board for most of the first half.
Jackson stalled the Panthers' best drive of the first half with an interception that he nearly returned to the house on his own. Instead, Douglas' offense came out and waltzed into the end zone to take a 28-0 lead.
From there, the Tigers were able to continue adding on en route to victory.
North Valleys was able to add on with four touchdowns, a two-point conversion and a field goal after the Tigers' took the big lead.
"They were firing away," said Mays. "They were throwing a lot. Our defense started to get a little bit tired, but our offense was able to match them in the second half."
UP NEXT: Douglas (3-1) will travel up route 395 next Friday to take on Carson (3-1) in the 101st installment of 'The Rivalry Game.'
Douglas has won four of the last six meetings with the Senators, including a 35-0 win last season.
