Carson Tahoe Health celebrated its 75th anniversary on Thursday at its Medical Parkway campus.

The celebration included root beer floats, cake, speakers and honoring Carson Tahoe Healthy volunteer George Allison with lifetime achievement award for his commitment to the hospital. The retired attorney’s parents were both CTH employees and George grew up at the old hospital on Fleischmann Way. His mother, Helen Allison, was the hospital’s first female administrator.

The celebration was the culmination of a fundraiser which raised more than $40,000 for the CTH Healing Our Kids crusade. The goal is to help address the youth mental health crisis. CTH is in the process of launching two mobile care RVs, establishing 10 beds for youth and creating a 12-bed youth crisis stabilization center.
