If you love our country’s public lands and the freedom to use them, you should be concerned about Trump getting back in the White House.
What do we have to lose? A lot. Our country has approximately 2.1 billion acres with approximately 500 million acres of public lands managed by the federal government. These include Bureau of Land Management lands, National Forests, National Parks, wildlife refuges and others. These federal public lands we all cherish are in jeopardy with another Trump administration.
We have seen how Trump reveres Putin and his oligarchs, including their taking of Soviet Union land and associated assets and privatizing them for their personal enrichment. Trump’s stated plans for appointing his loyalists to senior government positions to make decisions on our public land crown jewels puts them at the same risk as what happened to the Soviet assets.
These Trump loyalists in the executive branches of our government would control how our public lands are managed and protected. With the recent actions of the current Supreme Court including presidential immunity, there is nothing to stop Trump’s ability to exploit and destroy or liquidate our public lands.
All who treasure public lands must commit to keeping Trump away from them. The only way to stop him is at the ballot box. We must be united in this campaign.
If Trump succeeds in his quest, do you trust him with our public land heritage? Vote blue.
