It’s no secret to Carson fans that last Friday’s 47-13 loss to Douglas stung.

However, with the two teams in different leagues this fall, both will go in different directions from here.

The Rivalry’s result was for bragging right only as the league slate is what will matter for the Senators from here on.

Friday presents an ideal opportunity for Carson to begin league play on the right foot.

The Hawks enter at 0-4 this season and have been outscored 185-6 in their four losses.

Last season, Carson went on the road and beat Hug, 17-0.

The Senators have shown plenty of explosiveness this season and Friday night’s contest could feature a running clock early on if Carson is able to take advantage of big plays.

CARSON STAT LEADERS

Through five games, Carson has run for 748 yards on the ground and seven scores.

Angelo Macias (291 yards, one TD) and Christian Rey (254 yards, five TDs) have been the two bruising backs leading the way.

Drake Hardcastle has found some success on strikes over the top this season, connecting with Zack Eaton for a 34-yard passing touchdown last week against Douglas.

Eaton leads the team in receiving touchdowns with three while Ethan Hendee has the most yards for a wideout with 169 and one score.

Defensively, JT Heaton is running away with the team tackle lead, piling up 53 tackles through five games this season.

His 53 tackles are 10 more than anyone else in the Northern 5A-Division III.

He also has five tackles for loss and an interception.

Heaton’s teammate, Justin Gonzalez is fourth in the league with 34 tackles, which ranks second on the Senator squad. Kekoa Mitchell and Johnathan Alvarado are right behind Gonzalez with 30 tackles each.

Hendee and Mitchell have been two of D-III’s best kickoff returners while Jake Weninger has already proven himself as one of the punt returners teams will avoid kicking toward.

Hardcastle is 4-of-7 on field goal attempts this fall with a season-long of 45 yards. He’s 10-of-11 on PATs.
