Dear reader, it would appear that designers are realizing just how profitable products for pets are and the latest offering is high-end perfume for dogs. The Italian fashion giant Dolce & Gabbana has just introduced designer fragrances that sport designer price tags to match.
Apparently, the inspiration for the fragrances came from the love that Domenico Dolce (part of the famous designer duo) has for his adorably loyal dog Fefe. Emile Coppermann, who is a master perfumer, named this extraordinary fragrance Fefe in tribute to Domenico’s dog.
The website’s description of Fefe is amazing. Fefe is a olfactory masterpiece featuring warm notes of Ylang, the clean touch of Musk and woody undertones of Sandlewood. The perfume comes in a sleek green lacquered glass bottle with a red metal cap and a 24-carat gold-plated paw.
The price for this delightful aroma is $109 for a 3.4-ounce bottle. Along with your purchase, you will get a D&G dog collar with a tag. Engraving is an optional extra expense. Their promotional video features well-groomed dogs who were willing sit as they spray the product on their fur. For the not so willing dog, they recommend spraying it on your hands or brush and then applying it for a moment of scented pampering.
One little known fact about Queen Elizabeth II is that she created her own dog perfume in 2022 The Happy Hounds Dog Cologne, developed by a local perfumery that described the scent as having the essence of coastal walks. The price is a bargain at $13.57.
D&G are not the only designers to cash in on pet pampering. Anya Hindmarch, a British designer, offers a dog poop-bag charm for $172.00. Prada has a puffer jacket for those cold dog days that only costs $765. The luxury of a Versace bed for your BFF to snuggle down for the night is $1,170.
If all of this is too pricy for your budget, you can find dog colognes, perfumes, and deodorizing sprays at pet supply stores. Better yet, just give him a bath and let your BFF be a dog.
