A 13-year-old was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of making terroristic threats.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office investigated a social media post at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. The post suggested that a school shooting would take place at Eagle Valley Middle School.

The account had on it, “I like to do shootings every single year” with a gun emoji, according to a press release.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer’s (SRO’s) were called in to investigate the posting. A juvenile was later arrested and was booked into the Carson City Juvenile Detention Center.

“CCSO would like to thank the members of the community for reporting the incident. The Carson City School District and CCSO Investigations Bureau also assisted in the apprehension of the juvenile,” the press release said. “CCSO would also like to remind the community that threats toward the schools will be taken very seriously and immediate action will be taken.”

CCSO said Monday morning that there’s no threat or safety concerns to the school.
