Oasis roundup: Volleyball snaps losing streak

The Bighorns volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak by sweeping Sierra Lutheran in Carson City on Saturday.

Oasis Academy won 28-26, 31-29 and 25-23 to improve to 2-8 in the Northern 2A.

In the win, Grace Laca led the team with seven kills while Kiera McCoy and Reese Laca each had two. Dahlila Creer, Kaylin Guthrie, Taylor Hyde and Grace Laca each served two aces, and Laca added four digs and a block. Reese Laca also had two digs and four assists, and Creer dished up six assists.

In the 25-14, 25-16, 26-24 loss at Incline on Wednesday, Grace Laca led in kills with five followed by Creer, McCoy and Hyde each with three. Reese Laca served an ace, Creer and Grace Laca each had a block, and Abby Bird, Creer and Grace Laca each had one dig. Creer finished with five assists.

Oasis Academy travels to Pershing County and Silver Stage this week.
