The 24th annual Home & Garden Show sponsored by the Fallon chapter of Soroptimist International is slated for April 12 and 13 at the Fallon Convention Center.

Doors open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $1 per adult. A wide variety of local vendors will feature home and garden decor, jewelry, photography, produce and canned goods, arts and crafts and more.

“This event is a good opportunity for the community to check on home improvement ideas, learn more about volunteer opportunities and purchase items from small businesses for your home and family,” said Marcia Vinson, publicist for the Home & Garden Show and a longtime member of Soroptimists. “It’s a one-stop shop.”

Confirmed new and returning vendors so far include Let Us Charm You, Fanci-full of Whimsey jewelry, Stinky Puppy Bakery dog treats, Sparkles, The Tipsy Tumbleweed mobile bar, Renewal by Anderson, Kim’s Whimsical Upcycles, Bodacious Beads, Needle In A Haystack, Quality First Home Improvement, CC Communications, That Rocks!, Banner Health and Auxiliary, Found Essentials, Susan’s Homemade Gifts, Fallon Animal Welfare Group, Lattin Farms, Salisha’s Delicious Organic Produce, Western Nevada College, Hearts of Gold Quilters and TOPS NV.

“We can always use a few more vendors,” Vinson said. “We will really miss the 4-H Poultry Club this year because of the bird flu.”

For vendor information contact teresa.walden@bannerhealth.com.

Starter plants will be available for purchase and the roster of free children’s activities includes potting a plant to take home. The Child ID Program will be on site Saturday only.

The Show-n-Shine car show is also returning to the center’s parking lot on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until noon. All years, makes and models are welcome to join in the free event.

According to Soroptimist International, the global volunteer service for women has more than 66,000 members in 118 countries worldwide. Soroptimists help women to fund their education or work training to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

Proceeds from the Home & Garden Show will benefit local scholarships and community programs. The club provides several scholarships to high school seniors each year. Other programs include the “Live Your Dream Award,” presented to women who provide the primary financial support for their families, and the “Ruby Award,” presented to women who contribute to the community.
