Swimming: Fallon boys defeat Lowry, Fernley

The Greenwave boys swim team edged Lowry, 90-76, while the girls fell, 133-28, on March 21 in Truckee.

In the contested races for the boys, the 200-yard medley relay team of Kage Oyler, Kegan Welsh, Michael Liston and Joshua Enriquez won in 2 minutes, 9.20 seconds. Oyler finished second in the 200 individual medley in 3:14.66, while Welsh finished second in the 50 free in 25.39. Liston followed the 50 free in third in 28.02 along with William McLean in fourth at 28.52. Frederick finished fifth in the 100 free in 1:28.67.

The 200 relay team of Liston, Frederick, McLean and Welsh won in 2:01.73. Oyler won the 100 backstroke in 1:16.58, and McLean won the 100 breaststroke in 1:26.70.

For the girls, Miranda Reeder won the 50 free in 30.54 and 100 backstroke in 1:30.54. Jocylyn Miller finished second in the 100 free in 1:14.40 and 100 breaststroke in 1:44.50.


VS. VAQUEROS 

The Greenwave boys defeated cross-valley rival Fernley, 96-62, while the girls lost, 79-21, on March 28 in Fernley.

For the boys, McLean finished second in the 200 free in 2:24.01, and Frederick took third in the 50 free in 35.42. McLean won the 100 fly in 1:10.24 followed by Liston in second at 1:16.20 and Enriquez in third at 1:23.36.

Oyler won the 500 free in 7:23.85, and Frederick won the 100 back in 1:37.11. The 200 relay team of McLean, Frederick, Liston and Enriquez finished second in 2:04.14.

For the girls, Miller won the 500 free in 7:53.98 and finished third in the 100 back in 1:39.77.
