The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Sex Offender Task Force began an investigation on Feb. 6 into a possible non-compliant Tier 3 sex offender residing in the Fernley area.
During the investigation, authorities identified Rogelio Barocio, 39, of Fernley as a registered sex offender who was in violation of his registration requirements. On Feb. 11, Barocio was located, arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on one felony count of violating sexual offender registration requirements.

The task force conducts routine compliance checks to verify registration adherence, reinforcing its dedication to public safety. These proactive efforts play a crucial role in protecting Lyon County residents and maintaining community well-being.
