The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Sex Offender Task Force began an investigation on Feb. 6 into a possible non-compliant Tier 3 sex offender residing in the Fernley area.
During the investigation, authorities identified Rogelio Barocio, 39, of Fernley as a registered sex offender who was in violation of his registration requirements. On Feb. 11, Barocio was located, arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on one felony count of violating sexual offender registration requirements.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force is committed to ensuring that all registered sex offenders in Lyon County comply with their legal obligations. The task force conducts routine compliance checks to verify registration adherence, reinforcing its dedication to public safety. These proactive efforts play a crucial role in protecting Lyon County residents and maintaining community well-being.
The mission of the task force is to ensure 100% compliance among registered sexual offenders in Lyon County. For those who choose not to meet their legal obligations, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will take swift and decisive action to hold them accountable.
