Young Chautauqua Program
The Churchill County Museum’s Young Chautauqua Program for youth ages 12-18 continues every Thursday through April 10. The free classes will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. at 1050 S. Maine St.
Instructor Glen Perazzo and the museum staff will guide performers through the process of researching a chosen historical figure to create and perform an entertaining monologue. This year’s theme is “Jaunts and Journeys.”

PACC spring musical
Tickets for the Performing Arts of Churchill County original children’s musical, “Land of Make Believe,” are available at paccnv.org.
Tickets will also be available at the door for $10 as seating allows. Performances will be at the Churchill County High School Theatre on April 3-5 at 7 p.m. with an additional 1 p.m. matinee April 5.
Written by PACC Director Tim Wuth, the musical story follows siblings Bruce and Robin on a fun-filled journey through the Land of Make Believe as they meet classic characters including Little Red Riding Hood, the Fairy Godmother, the Evil Stepmother and more.

Fallon Elks Club
• Breakfast March 2 from 8-10 a.m. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, Belgian waffles, homemade grits.
Cost is $12, and $6 for ages 5-1. Free for under 5.
• St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage is March 23 beginning at 5 p.m.
Cost is $15 and $7 for 12 and under.

Greenwave QB Club
The Greenwave Quarterback Club is seeking volunteers to join the organization. Five members will be stepping down next season.
The Greenwave Quarterback Club helps the Churchill County High School football team by overseeing multiple fundraising events. The funds raised help support the football program, varsity dinners and the snack bar and also provide meals for double days.

Pennington Life Center
Stop by the Pennington Life Center in February for the many activities planned.
Plenty of good eats at the Pennington Life Center: All are welcome to partake. Lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Cost is $6 for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and older.
Churchill County Library
The library will be closed on Feb. 17 to observe the Presidents’ Day holiday.
For children:
• “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read books before entering school. Recognition given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000! Sign-ups accepted at any time at: bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.
• STEAM sessions every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Choose from science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities that vary from week to week. Geared to kids ages five through 11, but all are welcome.
• Come out for children’s story time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and again on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each week’s story time will feature the same content. Children’s Librarian Miss J reads picture books to children and offers a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.
