Shooting at them — Mr. Delevan, the panoramic, was engaged yesterday in taking pictures of a group of Washoe Indians on the Plaza. The aborigines seemed to like the fun and to understand that the thing which Delevan pointed at them wasn’t loaded.

The trail of Gilson yesterday for selling liquor to Indians developed the same state of facts as previously stated in the Appeal. The defendant claimed that while in an out-house be reason of natural necessity, some squaws stole the liquor out of a basket he had left outside, and that he squaw’s testimony was out for spite. His bail was fixed at $200.

Dr. Newman, the European eye specialist of Reno will be in Carson at the Arlington House Feb. 22, for one day only. Those is imperfect vision should not miss this opportunity. The doctor also fits glasses for headache and nervousness, old age and weak eyes.

The annual mid-winter concert by the Carson City High School concert band will be presented tomorrow at the Civic Auditorium. Director Albert Saliman announces that the program will consist of largely light, bright, selections and will also feature drum majorettes.

An item in last evening’s Gold Hill News says that the coin recently taken from the Pine Grove stage by robbers has been recovered. That paper also says that the driver is suspected of being party to the robbery.

Princess Sarah Winnemucca, in her lectures, has been very severe on the Paiute Indian Agent Gibson, of Nevada, and now the latter telegraphs to Washington “that Sarah Winnemucca, with five other Paiute Indians, after gambling with a friendly Bannock Indian, assaulted and robbed him of all his money. The Bannock Indian was severely beaten, and the agent asks for the assistance of the department in arresting Sarah and her accomplices.” (Continued)

Frank Craven found dead. Wednesday afternoon the community was shocked to hear the body of Frank Craven had been found in a well east of town. Several days ago, he and other companions were seen on the street in an intoxicated condition. Later they were seen near the place where the body was found. (Continued)

After a week in a coma, Chief Justice Frank McNamee of the Nevada Supreme Court — severely beaten a week ago — is showing signs of consciousness, his doctor said today. McNamee was found unconscious in his Lake Tahoe apartment last Tuesday morning. Phillip A. Denning, 21, was being held in St. Louis in lieu of $5,000 bond on a charge of interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle. He faces Nevada charges with intent to kill or commit robbery.

The foreman of the hopelessly deadlocked jury which caused a mistrial in the case of accused Harvey’s Wagon Wheel bombing co-son spirit or Elia Joan Williams said he feels strongly the case shouldn’t go to trial again.

We started in our issue of yesterday, on the authority of the Gold Hill News, that the driver of the Pine Grove stage was suspected of having perpetrated the robbery of Wells, Fargo & Co.’s treasure, which we mentioned. The story now comes to us that the money was found buried at or near the garden of Wellington’s Station by a Pine Grove Constable (Continued).

(Man found dead continued). It was at first suspected that foul play was involved, but on thorough investigation that it was an accident. At a meeting of the coroner’s jury the inquest yesterday a verdict of death by alcoholism and exposure was rendered. He was about 67 years of age. He leaves a wife and son.

A resolution to call a constitutional convention was introduced in the assembly today by Artie Valentine, D-Sparks, and R. Guild Gray, R-Las Vegas. Gray has said the 100 years old constitution contains many obsolete provisions.

With a hearty cry of “Hi-Yo, Silver, away,” actor Clayton Moore on Saturday donned the mask he wore during his 30 years as the Lone Ranger for the first time since a 1979 court order forbade him to use it.
