On Nov. 1, Elk member Linda Marrone served up an Italian dinner for more than 60 people at the lodge.
Proceeds were designated for the Night Off The Streets nonprofit. NOTS runs the Carson City Warming Center that houses the homeless overnight during the winter.
NOTS also provides year-round help to the homeless directing them to services aimed at getting them off the street more permanently.
A total of $2,500 was raised from the dinner, raffle and additional member donations which will go toward purchasing sleeping bags and tarps for the warming center. This is the third year in a row that the Carson City Elks Lodge has supported NOTS.
