Titus serves as the Nevada Senate Republican leader and previously as the Assembly Republican leader. Her great-grandfather came to Nevada in 1866 to try his hand at mining. In the 1880s, her family settled in Smith Valley.
Titus completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno and her doctorate at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She returned to serve Lyon County as a family practice physician for 37 years including pre- and post-natal care delivering countless babies.
In addition to serving her patients, she also served as chief of staff at the Lyon County Hospital and on the State Board of Medical Examiners. She is in her fourth term at the Legislature and is the Lyon County Health Officer.
Nevada has given her the opportunity to be a doctor, a conservative policy setter, and a small business owner. She has been ranked the most conservative member in the Legislature. She lives in Wellington with her husband, retired Lyon County Sheriff Allen Veil.
Koenig, a Republican, was first elected to the District 38 seat in 2022, and he ran unopposed in 2024. He previously served on the Churchill County Board of Commissioners for one term and the Churchill County School Board for three terms. He replaced Titus, who successfully ran for the state Senate.
Koenig is a fourth generation. He was born out of state while his father was fighting in Vietnam, but he returned at the age of 5. He completed his K-12 schooling in Fallon and did some of his undergraduate work at the University of Nevada, Reno. He attended Pacific University College of Optometry near Portland, and returned to Fallon to start his own practice upon graduation. Koenig now has practices in Fallon, Fernley and Yerington. He and his wife Terra have been married for over 30 years, and they have three children and five grandchildren.
Koenig served 12 years on the Churchill County School Board, with half of that time as board president. He was also president of the Nevada Association of School Boards, and sat on the NIAA board which oversees high school athletics for the entire state.
In 2024, Koenig was named the Nevada Optometry Association’s state optometrist of the year.
