A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the Fallon Theatre for our live music event with Sweet Decay last Friday. We’re always thrilled to use our nonprofit community center and historic vaudeville stage to showcase a variety of incredible new and returning talent.

This has always been our vision for the space, and while we continue to offer regular movie screenings, we’re also excited for the stage to host a diverse range of music, theater and community events.

As for this upcoming weekend, we’re continuing on with the Despicable Me franchise and will be showing part two at 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. When a new criminal comes to town, the Anti-Villain League decides to hire Gru in order to fight him off, but Gru already has his hands full with raising his three little girls.

“Despicable Me 2” is rated PG.

Also showing Friday and Saturday, we have the 1982 Western drama romance starring Kirk Douglas, “The Man from Snowy River,” at 7 p.m. In 1880s Australia, after young Jim Craig’s father dies, he takes a job at the Harrison cattle ranch where he is forced to become a man. This film is also rated PG and both movies are free.

Coming Feb. 8, we’ll be hosting our annual “Love Your Theatre” Valentine’s Fun Run/Walk 5K fundraiser. It will begin on Maine Street in front of the theatre at 9 a.m., and pre-registration prices are $25 per person and $40 per couple. Register by Jan. 20 to guarantee an event T-shirt. Registration information may be found on Facebook or our website, fallontheatre.com. Registration forms can also be picked up in person at Kent’s Supply Center.

In addition to our free movies and fun events, we also offer our beautifully refurbished marquee for special event messages. If you would like to book a Marquee Message or reserve an auditorium for a party, leave us a message at 775-423-6210 or email us at thefallontheatre@gmail.com.
