Underclassmen among Carson High School's 2025 Winterfest candidates will be crowned Feb. 7. Senior candidates will be crowned Feb. 8.
Winterfest celebrations kicked off Friday afternoon with an assembly, and Carson High School was pleased to announce the student-elected candidates and theme, “What Do You Love.”
The week-long events, beginning Feb. 3 through Feb. 8 will feature day and evening activities the whole school will enjoy including dress-up days; face painting; games; the Future Business Leaders of America talent show at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson City Community Center; Painting, Pizza and Punch Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and more.
The Carson High School 2025 Winterfest candidates, alphabetically by grade and last name, include the following:
Senior Queen candidates: Samantha Anderson, Jessica Barry, Payton Brown, Anne Davis, Kennli Fassett and Genoah Squillante.
Senior King candidates: Spencer Fitzpatrick, Ayden Krueger, Angelo Macias, Sawyer Macy, Waylon Parr and Caiden Wilcox.
Junior Princess candidates: Devyn Kellner, Abi Mehlhaff and Hailey Satterwhite.
Junior Prince candidates: Cash Abeyta, Daniel Rivera and Ryker Russell.
Sophomore Princess candidates: Claire Dillon, Miya Kuniya and Emjae Salanoa.
Sophomore Prince candidates: Quinn Kuchnicki, Thomas Lance and Dean Parr.
Freshman Princess candidates: Hope Brown, Abigayle Coulam and Amelia Papez.
Freshman Prince candidates: Chance Handelin, Niko Mitchell and Daniel Schell.
In addition to the announcement of Winterfest candidates, the Carson High Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps presented the colors while choir singers performed the national anthem. The assembly also featured performances by the Carson High Cheer Team and CHS Blue Thunder Band. Staff raced across the gym in snowmen outfits made of toilet paper. Lastly, there were friendly competitions among grade levels including an air mattress race, basketball musical chairs and loudest section cheers.
The underclassmen crowning event will be held Feb. 7 during lunch in Senator Square at Carson High School. The senior coronation event will be held at the Winterfest Dance Feb. 8 in Senator Square at approximately 8:45 p.m.
