Kekoa Mitchell was crowned Mr. Carson High March 21 at Carson High School.
Carson High School senior Kekoa Mitchell was crowned “Mr. Carson High” Friday evening at the school’s cheerleader fundraising event in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center. ‘Almost Mr. Carson High’ (first runner-up) went to Ethan Hendee and ‘Nearly Mr. Carson High’ (second runner-up) was awarded to Sergio Villanueva.
The 80’s themed pageant consisted of introductions, on-stage questions, a talent portion, a formal dance and team choreographed dances, all set to 80s music and costumes. The event takes weeks of planning and numerous volunteers to pull off. All proceeds from ticket sales and community sponsorships go toward the cheerleading program at Carson High School.

Ben Spence (Carson High Teacher) and Dan Spence (Attorney at Law) served as the Masters of Ceremonies for the evening. Mr. Carson High judges included, alphabetically, by last name: Alex Fonvil (UNR cheerleader), Ken Furlong (Carson City Sheriff’s Office), Dr. Jonathan Mather (CHS Megaphone Sponsor), Ryan Payton (Vice President of Carson Tahoe Health) and Michelle Pedersen (School Board Trustee).
