CAPS fundraiser
CAPS annual No Flea Flea Market will be held at Oasis Community Church from 1-7 p.m. Friday, April 4, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon or 3-6 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
Mom and Me Dance Party
Churchill County High School Safe and Sober Grad Nite 2025 presents the “Let’s Glow Crazy” Mom and Me Dance Party on April 5 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will be at “The Pit” inside the Churchill County School District office at 690 S. Maine St. Guests are encouraged to wear neon colors or white clothing to glow in the special lighting. Admission is $20 per couple and $10 for each additional person. Tickets are available at Jeff’s Digitex Printing or at the door.

PACC spring musical
The Performing Arts of Churchill County presents the foot-stompin' hit Broadway musical “Pump Boys and Dinettes.”
The full-length country western musical features Summer Stanton and Adia Finch sharing the role of Rhetta Cupp and Melissa Derby as her sister, Prudie, singing and dancing at the Double Cupp Diner. Byron Sorensen, Jake Coval, Kenny Coval, Mick Penick and Tom Fleming play the musically talented pump boys from the gas station next door.
Showings are scheduled at The Fallon Theatre for April 25 and 26 and May 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. with matinees on April 26 and May 9 at 1 p.m.
Additional showings will also be held at The Brewery Arts Auditorium in Carson City and the Dini Cultural Center in Yerington.

CCHS color run 5K
The Churchill County High School chapter of the National Honor Society will sponsor a 5K Color Run and Walk on April 5 starting from Fallon City Hall at 10 a.m.

The 26th annual Soroptimist Home & Garden Show at the Fallon Convention Center will be April 12-13.

Greenwave Hall of Fame
Nominations are being accepted until May 31 for the Greenwave Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Categories for this year include teams, athletes, coaches and supporters of Greenwave athletics. The date for this year’s induction is Sept. 27 at the Fallon Convention Center.
Nomination forms may be found at greenwavehof.com. Any application received after May 31 will be considered next year.
Once the nominators complete the application packet, they should return it to the GHOF via email to greenwavehalloffame@gmail.com. If the nominators feel as though they need to mail the packet, they may do so before the deadline to the following address:

St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage is March 23 beginning at 5 p.m.

Learn to quilt
The “My Kinda Town” Block-of-the-Month class will be held every third Wednesday each month. By the end of nine months, you’ll have a 42″x54″ paper-pieced quilt top.
Taught by Workman’s Quilting Instructor Joey Brown, these classes are open to all experience levels: learn, review, and perfect your quilting skills. All quality fabric will be provided by Workman Farms. Only $25 per month for CCMA members/$30 for non-members – pay in full and the pattern is free: a $25.00 savings.

Cantaloupe Festival design contest
The Fallon Cantaloupe Festival & Country Fair is looking for two T-shirt designs to commemorate this year's 40th anniversary: an exclusive volunteer shirt and an event shirt. Submissions may be digital, drawn or painted, but must include the following somewhere in the design: Fallon Cantaloupe Festival, 2025, 40th anniversary or 40th year or 40 years and Est. 1985.
Entries must be received no later than May 16. Include your name, a parent name (if underage), and a contact number on the back of the submission or on a sticky note attached. The winners will receive a family four-pack of passes and four shirts.
Entries may be dropped off at the following locations: Fallon Chamber (290 W. Williams Ave.); or Financial Horizons Credit Union (2711 Reno Hwy.)
Young Chautauqua Program
The Churchill County Museum’s Young Chautauqua Program for youth ages 12-18 continues every Thursday through April 10. The free classes will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. at 1050 S. Maine St.
Instructor Glen Perazzo and the museum staff will guide performers through the process of researching a chosen historical figure to create and perform an entertaining monologue. This year’s theme is “Jaunts and Journeys.”

Greenwave QB Club
The Greenwave Quarterback Club is seeking volunteers to join the organization. Five members will be stepping down next season.
The Greenwave Quarterback Club helps the Churchill County High school football team by overseeing multiple fundraising events including a golf tournament and catering. The funds raised help support the football program, varsity dinners and the snack bar and also provide meals for double days.

Pennington Life Center
Stop by the Pennington Life Center in March and April for the many activities planned.
Plenty of good eats at the Pennington Life Center: All are welcome to partake. Lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Cost is $6 for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and older.

• STEAM sessions every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Choose from science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities that vary from week to week. Geared to kids ages six through 11, but all are welcome.
• Come out for children’s story time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and again on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each week’s story time will feature the same children’s content with picture books and a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.
