The 50th annual Elks Invitational saw more than 40 boys and girls teams compete in the Lahontan Valley.
Fallon finished seventh in the boys division with 33.5 points and 13th in the girls with 12.5 points. Truckee won the boys division with 109.5 points followed by Spring Creek, 103; Fernley, 100; Elko, 59; and North Valleys, 56.5. Lowry won the girls division with 155.5 points followed by Spring Creek, 84; Truckee, 82, North Valleys, 76; and Elko, 75.
Fallon next competes in the Reed Reno Running Company Invitational (formerly the Rotary) on Friday and Saturday at Reed High School.
The following are top-10 finishes and personal-bests from the Greenwave competing in the Elks Invitational.
SPRINTS
In the boys division, Bransyn Wright finished seventh in the 100-meter dash in 12.06 seconds, and Wyatt Dixon posted a personal-best 24.31 to finish eighth in the 200. Justin McArthur had a personal-best 25.80 in the 200 and 58.51 in the 400.
In the girls division, Taylor Perry ran a personal-best in the 400 in 1:10.75. Arabella Berry and Kylee Moore also ran personal bests at 1:12.58 and 1:18.14.
DISTANCE
In the boys division, Evan Garcia-Jurado finished eighth in the 800 with a personal-best time of 2:14.02. Angel Mendez Barajas (2:42.11) and Aric McBride (2:46.88) also recorded personal bests in the 800. Personal bests in the 1600 included Zander Lewis, 5:38.98; Alex Sorensen, 5:48.43; and Alexander McBride, 6:31.09. Sorensen led the boys in the 3200 with a 12:34.46, followed by Lewis at 12:55.95, Levi Bradford at 13:01.12 and McBride at 13:40.51. All 3200 times were personal bests.
In the girls division, Hannah Hanks ran a personal-best 3:17.01 in the 800, and Zoe Rasmussen had a personal-best 7:19.24 in the 1600. Melody Garcia-Bishop also ran a personal-best 7:48.74 in the 1600.
HURDLES
In the boys division, all four runners in the 300 hurdles recorded personal-best times with Nathaniel Bianchi finishing seventh in 43.58. Harper ran the race in 49.12 followed by Alex Bacallo in 57.43 and Brody Hughes in 1:02.32.
In the girls division, Tommie Fitzer (55.99), Karmen Alcantar (57.70) and Kylee Moore (1:05.49) had personal bests in the 300 hurdles.
RELAYS
In the boys division, the 4x100 team of Rylan Clark, Dixon, Bianchi and Wright finished third in 45.14, and the 4x800 team of Leo Arcoraci, William James Lofthouse, Leojro Chavez and Garcia-Jurado finished third in 9:06.77. The 4x400 team of Adan Roman Montes, Wright, Dixon and Garcia-Jurado finished fourth in 3:42.54, and the 4x200 team of Adan Roman Montes, Hughes, McArthur and Dixon took eighth in 1:40.55.
In the girls division, the 4x100 team of Karmen Alcantar, McKenzee Peterson, Lillian Souza and Fitzer finished fifth in 56.15, and the 4x200 team of Rebekah Knight, Analiese Sorensen, Fitzer and Souza finished eighth in 2:05.08.
THROWS
In the boys division, Jason Lewis had personal-best throws of 34 feet, 1.75 inches in the shot put and 99-10 in the discus. Carlos Valenzuela threw a personal-best 30-3.25 in the shot put followed by Trayden Huckaby’s personal-best 28-1.25. Carter McBee had a personal-best throw of 96 feet in the discus followed by Ryan Taylor-Fink’s personal-best of 83.
In the girls division, Anaya Barber had a personal-best 60-4 in the discus.
JUMPS
In the boys division, Wright won the high jump at 6-2 and Jaeshon Pearson had a personal-best 4-8. Dion Gocong jumped a personal-best 17-2.75 in the long jump.
In the girls division, Peterson finished sixth in the high jump at 4-6 and seventh in the long at 14-5.75, a personal best.
POLE VAULT
In the girls division, Peterson finished sixth in the pole vault at 7-6.
