The general election is Nov. 5. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, third-quarter contribution and expense reports from candidates are due by Oct. 15.

Final results from the Carson City Clerk Recorder’s Office Tuesday showed Carson City School Board District 7 candidates Michelle Pedersen and John Henley would go to the general ballot in November. Of the total 10,255 votes cast, Pedersen did not garner enough votes with a total of 5,007, or 48.8%, necessary to make 50% plus one to win the seat in the primary. Henley earned 2,716, or 26.4%, of votes cast while Joy Trushenski came in with 2,532, or 24.6%.
Mail ballots had to be postmarked before or by Tuesday and can be received and counted by the election officials no later than June 15.
The new process — the ability to cast ballots electronically — has the potential to significantly boost turnout among all tribes in Nevada.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, and Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen reported a low turnout in early voting of 14.8 percent as of Friday — the last day of early voting.
