Russell J Mann, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the age of 72 due to complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Russell was born on August 1, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to August (DeNova) Mann and Anna (Uzzardo) Mann.
He joined the Navy in 1965 and served four years in the Philippines as an electronics mechanic on the USS Oriskany. He continued in the field of electronics until he retired. On April 2, 1983, he married Gloria Lee Flores, and enjoyed their blended family of three sons and three daughters.
Throughout his life, Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and especially traveling across North America in his Beaver Coach with Gloria and their two dogs.
Russell is survived by his mother, Anna, his wife Gloria, their six children, Kevin (Evelyn) Flores, Greg Flores, Cathy (Miles) Donat, Matthew (Francine) Flores, Michele (David) Chamberlin, and Christine Vargas, sister Phyllis Zink, brother Richard (Tara) Mann, and sister-in-law Theresa Mann, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews, three nieces, and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, August, and his brother, Wayne.
The family will be holding private services in the near future.
