Kathy was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend to many in the community. Kathy was always positive, very pleasant to be around and a genuine “sweet pea” as she lovingly called those whom she cared about. She loved and was truly loved by her family, friends, and her dogs.
Katherine was born in the Hawaiian Islands on December 1959 to her parents Ray and Renee. She was the youngest of three. She loved her family. She is survived by her brother Michael, his wife Tina, their three children; Minoaka (Dallas), Andrew (Ciara), Michelle (Jordan) and multiple grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Boadella and her husband Amadeo.
Growing up Kathy enjoyed being with her brother and sister. She loved swimming, and even received medals during her involvement with the special Olympics. She graduated from Kaiser High School on Oahu.
Eventually moving to be near her sister and father, she worked for many years at Fallon Industry as a salesclerk. She loved her job and her friends there. While a member of Tungland Industries she also enjoyed working at Walmart and eventually at the Blue Sky thrift store. Kathy really loved her group of friends there.
Kathy enjoyed crafts, gardening, shopping, her animals, crossword puzzles and also keeping in touch faithfully by phone with family and friends. She will truly be missed.
On July 26, 2021 at the age of 62 she left peacefully after a short illness. Friends of Kathy are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at Maine Street Cafe 810 South Maine on Monday August 9 from 4-6 pm.
We would like to thank Karen and the staff at Tungland Industry for their support through the years. Thank you also to the kind care and friends at Highland Manor and to Megan and Carol. Thank you to Infinity Hospice and Theresa and Melisa. Your care and kindness were appreciated by Kathy and her family very much.
Whether you worked with her, whether you spoke to her on the phone or whether she greeted you at Walmart, she had a way of making you smile. Her family would like to thank you for being a part of Kathy’s life, big or small, while she sleeps in peace, her family takes comfort in the bibles promise that one day we can see her again Acts 24:15.
