Born to Elizabeth MacLean Lewis and William Lewis, Val Lewis Nelson Hayes was a lifelong resident of Carson City.
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Val was very active in the lives of her family as well as her community. Known to many as the “hostess with the mostest” and an amazing cook, she was always ready to help out friends with a fabulous meal if needed and hosted wonderful dinners and holiday parties for family and friends. She had many fun times with longtime childhood friends, the YaYa’s and enjoyed travelling, reading, her pets and watching classic movies.
Loved by three men who preceded her in death; husband, Garry Nelson, husband Al Hayes and John Dube. Gone from her too soon, her daughter Karla Ann Nelson and brother Bill Lewis.
She is survived by brother Richard Lewis. She is also survived by many cousins who loved and cherished her as she was the “favorite cousin”!
The family wishes to thank those friends who stayed by her side, who loved her like family and cared for her during her illness.
As no service is scheduled, you may wish to donate to your favorite animal charity in memory of Val.
