Carol Elaine Schillereff Etcheverry was a caring wife, mother, sister, teacher, and friend. She left this world on November 19th, 2021 in Carson City, Nevada.
She was born to Conrad and Marie Schillereff on August 25, 1945 in Casper, Wyoming. After graduating from high school, Carol attended Casper College where she met her husband, Terry Etcheverry. Together they attended the University of Wyoming where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree to pursue her lifelong passion, Education. They had two children together, Christi and Cary.
Carol spent 40 years as an educator and had an incalculable influence on hundreds of children. Teaching them reading, writing, arithmetic, history, social skills, and important life lessons. She taught in schools in Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. She went on to obtain a Master’s Degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas while teaching full time.
Carol loved the outdoors and was always eager to go camping and for nature walks. She also loved to cook and spend time with her family, and her beloved cat Ms. Tissy. She was a skilled piano player and often filled her home with beautiful music. She was also an avid reader and loved classic movies from the black and white era.
One of Carol’s finest qualities was her sense of humor. She loved to tell and listen to stories and loved a good joke. She had an infectious laugh that was contagious.
It was hard to be in her company and not have a smile on your face. She will be missed by all that knew her. She is with God now.
