Joe Alan Cooper, born on November 2, 1949, in Bakersfield, California, passed away on July 14th, 2021, in Carson City, Nevada.
Joe was admired by all that knew him. He was known for his love of the outdoors and all animals, especially his pet tortoise, Oscar, and his turtle, Speedy. Joe loved nature and hiking and spending time with his daughter, Buffy, exploring the outdoors. He was an avid hang glider- a man with no fear. He had a deep love for Kona, Hawaii where he would bodysurf, snorkel with the turtles and marine life and explore the island.
He is survived by his daughter, Buffy Ford of Carson City, his partner of 35 years, Eleanor Bernsten of Carson City, and siblings Al Cooper of Tuscon, Arizona, Saloma Steele of Sparks, Nevada, Pamela Anderson of Sparks, Nevada, and Diane Dunham of Carson City.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 2:00PM at the home of Joe & Eleanor at 1401 Chaparral Drive, Carson City, NV 89703.
