A funeral for Rose Marie Downs, 86, a Minden resident will be 11:00 am Tuesday May 18, 2021 at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, Nevada.
Rose passed away on May 9, 2021 at home. She was born November 28, 1934 in Hearne, Texas to Wilburn H and Sadie J Whaley.
Rose married Gary James Downs in Georgetown, Texas on July 3, 1954.
Before moving to Minden, Rose lived in Temple, Texas. She was a registered nurse in Texas and Nevada for over 30 years.
Rose loved helping others her entire life.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Gary, brothers Herby and Jack, and parents Wilburn and Sadie.
Among her survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Gary Rowe; son, Mike Downs; brothers John and Dana Whaley; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at the Lone Mountain Cemetery following the service. Masks and social distancing rules will apply.
