Carole “Née Greunke” A. Kalley

Carole A. (Née Greunke) Kalley, age 84 of Shorewood, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Born August 26, 1936 in Appleton, Wisconsin, Carole was the daughter of William and Frieda (Née Galwe) Greunke. She was raised in the Appleton area, graduated from High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from California State University, Fullerton.
On April 29, 1961, Carole married Joseph Kalley in Bethany Lutheran Church, Appleton, WI. Together, they lived in Wisconsin and Southern California. Carole moved to Carson City, Nevada after Joe passed away.
In recent years, she enjoyed residing at the Dell Webb Community of Shorewood.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Carole enjoyed wildlife, bird watching, was an avid quilter and gardener. She also loved being involved with the humane societies.
Carole is survived by her children; Douglas J. Kalley and Sarah B. (Robert) Miller, grandchildren; Ewan Kalley, Ashley Kalley, Christopher Kalley and Hannah Miller, great-grandchildren; Bradley and Sophia Miller, and Maxwell Kalley, siblings; Mary Hughes and Ron (Sherry) Greunke, numerous nieces and nephews, longtime - best friend; Pam (Dann) McCreary and her canine companion; Maizy. Carole was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years; Joseph Kalley (2001) and her parents; William and Frieda Greunke.
Per Carole’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial visitation will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 40 Houbolt Road, Joliet, IL 60431, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.,
