Sheldon “Shell” Quinn, age 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21st, 2021.
Shell was born in Kodiak, Alaska, June 6th1959 to the late James L. Quinn and Jolene I. Quinn. Shell was born in Alaska before it officially became a state. His birth there was a result of his father being stationed in Alaska while serving in the U.S. Navy.
Shell graduated from Churchill County High School in 1978 and was an outstanding football player in high school where he was the starting cornerback for the Fallon Greenwave from (76-78). He had the distinction of winning back-to-back championships. Shell went onto drafting school in, Tempe, Arizona and worked primarily as a drafting technician and most recently as a mechanic with Olam out of Fernley, NV.
Shell had the honor of serving our country in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Machinists Mate and served aboard the USS Forrestal CV-59.
Shell is survived by his son Allen Quinn, his brother James L. Quinn Jr, a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A service will be held at the Fallon cemetery at 1 pm on the 13th of November with a celebration of life following the service at the Fallon bowling alley at 2 pm
