Albert Josef Fischer
April 4, 1930 - August 27, 2021
Albert (Al) passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 27. Al was born on April fool’s day 1930, in Torrance, California to Josef and Betty Fischer (Immigrants from Switzerland and Czechoslovakia). Raised on a chicken ranch, dad could not go surfing or water skiing until all his chores were done and by far was the hardest working man I’ve met.
Albert attended the University of Colorado, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. In Colorado, he met his sailing/ski buddy, Mary (mom) and spent the next 62 years together.
In 1961, mom and dad moved to Carson City and called it home. Al not only worked for the state of Nevada helping construct Sand Harbor, Valley of Fire and numerous other state parks, but also purchased Cottonwood Mobile Home Park and turned it into one of the finest mobile home parks on the west coast.
Mom and dad enjoyed skiing, backpacking, and sailing throughout their lives. They passed their love of the outdoors to their four kids; Susan (Todd) Henne, Kathy (Mike) Williams, Paul (Carin) Fischer, and Peter Fischer. Extremely proud of their grandkids; Kristi (Scott) and Kaylie (David) Henne. Logan and Natalie Williams, Katie and Nick Fischer and one recent Grandchild Aiden (Kaylie).
Albert loved people and always had a smile on his face even to the end. He will be missed.
