Kyra Kathleen (Klundt) Frandsen, 51, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2021, in Salt Lake City, Utah, due to complications of a recent diagnosis of Leukemia. She was surrounded by her loving family as she crossed into her next life.
Kyra was born on March 5, 1970, to Orville and Jean (Lattin) Klundt, in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1988, and at the age of 18, she proudly joined the United States Navy and served honorably for twelve years. Soon after joining the Navy, Kyra married the love of her life, Mike, on September 30, 1989. After traveling around the world, Kyra and Mike settled in Fallon, Nevada, where they raised their three children.
Kyra valued family above all else, and she spent much of her time with the people she loved. She enjoyed cooking very large and delicious meals for her family, crafting, and golfing with her husband, friends, and the Fallon Women’s Golf Club. She was extremely detailed in her work, personal life, and she took pride in her accomplishments. Kyra touched many lives with her short time on this earth and will be truly missed by all.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 31 years, John “Mike” Frandsen of Fallon, Nevada, her three loving children, and grandson: Shelby (Carson) Vernon of Great Falls, Montana, Sarah (DJ) Wilkes of Great Falls, Montana, John “JM” Frandsen of Bloomington, Indiana,
and Riley Wilkes. She is survived by her mother, Jean Klundt of Great Falls, Montana, siblings, Kelsey (Michelle) Klundt of Great Falls, Montana, Kerri Bolstad of Queen Creek, Arizona, mother-in-law Patty (Steve) Smith of Great Falls, Montana, brother-in-law Terry Frandsen of
Tempe, Arizona, sister-in-law JaNae Barrett of Great Falls, Montana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kyra was preceded in death by her father, Orville Wilbur Klundt, her father-in-law, John Martin Frandsen, and a very special man she adored, Charles Russell Price, Jr.
Memorial services for Kyra will be held at the Croxford Funeral Home Chapel, at 1100 hours,
on Saturday, September 25th, 2021, located at 1307 Central Avenue, Great Falls, Montana, 59401. Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at the Highland Cemetery, 2010 33rd Avenue South. Reception to follow at Croxford Funeral Home.
A Memorial golf tournament at the Fallon Golf Course, Fallon, Nevada, will be held in Kyra’s honor in the spring of 2022, date to be determined. All proceeds to be donated in Kyra’s name to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made in Kyra’s name to the Leukemia
