Steve Erquiaga
February 2, 1955 - January 22, 2022
Former Churchill County resident Steve Erquiaga, 66, died at his home in Weiser, Idaho on January 22, 2022. He was born in Fallon, Nevada on February 2, 1955.
A graduate of Churchill County High School in Fallon and Link’s Business College in Boise, Steve was elected Churchill County Recorder Auditor in 1978, at age 23. He later served as the assistant administrator of the local hospital. He spent most of his life working on family cattle and dairy farms in Fallon and Jerome, Idaho. He loved to cook and keep track of all kinds of information about cows.
Steve is survived by his sons, Alec (wife Abbey) and Ryan (partner Andrew); granddaughters Reese and Maisy; his brothers, Carl (wife Lisa) and Dale; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Anita Erquiaga, and his sister, Diane Lowery.
A memorial service will be held at the Fallon Eagles Aerie, 7977 Reno Highway, on Wednesday, February 2, beginning at 3pm.
