Robert D Skach

December 28, 1939 - March 10, 2023

Robert D Skach passed peacefully to be with Jesus and his dear family in heaven on March 10, 2023. He was 83 years old. He left this earth surrounded by the love of his family.

He was predeceased in life by his mother, Marie V. Skach, his father, Joseph J. Skach, and his brother, Joseph G. Skach.

Robert Skach earned his degree in Engineering and Nuclear Power from Marquette University in 1962. As a member of the Triangle Engineering Fraternity, he earned the nickname “Sparky.” Robert began his career at Nuclear Chicago before venturing into entrepreneurship.

He founded General Hospital Leasing and later established General Hospital Services, where he consulted for the medical industry. Known for his professionalism and expertise, Robert was also beloved for his charm and charisma, earning him the respect and admiration of his friends and colleagues.

Robert married his college sweetheart, Judith Grzesik-Skach, at the age of 21, and they had six children: Rosemarie Skach Watts Bliss, Sheryl Skach, Robert B. Skach, Kevin Skach, Marcy Skach Kivi, and Stacy Skach Hughes (and their respective spouses).

Later in life, he met his second sweetheart Maria Callirgos-Skach and became a father to her son, Christopher Montenegro, and together they had a son, Brian Skach.

Robert was also a proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren,
as well as four nieces and one nephew.

He loved his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as his friends. He loved Lake Tahoe more than anywhere on earth, socializing, and being around people. He enjoyed making chili, cooking barbecue, and making Sunday morning breakfast for his family after church.

He also loved sports, watching Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, singing old favorite tunes, spending time with his family, and going out to meals with family and friends.

Robert was a kind, compassionate person who touched so many lives. He truly was a guardian angel who walked amongst us and taught us how to live, love, and laugh unconditionally. He will always be remembered for his generosity, humility, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy and memory will live on forever.

A funeral service will be held for Robert Skach on April 22nd, 2023, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carson City at 11:00 am in the main church. Friends and family are welcome to attend, and a web link will be available for those who cannot attend in person.
