Rudolfo Rudy Moreno

Rudolfo “Rudy” Moreno, 89, died peacefully in his sleep on February 22, at his home six months after the passing of his wife, Helen.

Rudy was born in Douglas, AZ to Faustino and Reducindo Moreno. He had two sisters, Dora and Eva, as well as a brother, Art.

He resided in Los Angeles, before joining the Airforce for 4 years. He attended UNR, receiving a degree in Accounting. He spent the remainder of his career working for the State of Nevada, ultimately retiring from the Department of Transportation.

Rudy and Helen were married on September 1, 1956, in Helen’s hometown of Westwood, and made Reno their home until they moved to Carson City with their 3 children in 1967, where he remained until his death.

He was a talented musician, playing guitar and singing lead in a Mariachi band, singing in a competitive Barbershop Choir, as well as sharing his talents in his church choir. Rudy and Helen spent many years traveling in their RV for extended periods of time, He loved hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Rudy is survived by his daughters, Maria and Anita, son, Mark, three grandchildren, Matthew, Monica and Tiffanie, and sister Dora.

Funeral Services will be held at St, Teresa’s of Avila on April 29th. Rosary is at 9:30 AM, Mass at 10 AM. Interment and reception will follow
