Ron Finch passed away peacefully at 9:25 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Ron Finch was born on June 27, 1946, in Buckholts, Texas. He grew up in Rockdale, Texas before enlisting as a marine in June of 1964. After serving for 4 years (including a tour in Vietnam), he was honorably discharged and entered a rewarding career in law enforcement.
He spent 10 years with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff and bailiff before moving to Gardnerville, Nevada in 1979. For the next 20 years he served in various roles with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. After retiring from law enforcement, he worked as Chief of Security for Bently Nevada Corporation until 2014.
In retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Evelyn, spending time with family and friends, and feeding the neighborhood dogs hotdogs while driving around in his golf cart. Over the past 48 years Ron enjoyed hosting his annual Finch Goat BBQ during the 4th of July holiday. Friends and family from near and far always enjoyed coming and celebrating Americas birthday with him.

Ron is survived by Evelyn Finch (spouse), Travis Finch (son), Kimberli Finch (daughter in law), Austin Finch (grandson), Nelard Finch (brother), Becky Woods (sister).
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at High Sierra Fellowship located at 1250 Gilman Ave., Gardnerville, NV.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) K9 unit.
