Irene Joanette Gallio
February 21, 1949 - August 7, 2023
Irene Linda Joanette-Gallio, long time Fallon resident, lost her long battle with cancer at home on August 7, 2023.
Irene was born February 21, 1949, in Saskatchewan, Canada to Louis and Effie Joanette.
Irene would be best known as a Professor at Western Nevada Community College. Irene had two passions in her life, one being a teacher, which she did for 26 years and the other was gardening, she loved working out in her yard. She touched the lives of many students over the years, Irene was voted Teacher of The Year in 1992.
Irene is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jack Gallio; son, John Joanette (Clarissa); Stepsons and spouses, Greg Gallio (Jackie); Jack Gallio (Buff); Andy Gallio (Cheryl); Jeff Gallio (Christie); brother, Roger (Lucy) Joanette; sisters, Betty (Nathan) Amboy; April DeGolyer; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of life for Irene will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 A M at The Gardens uneral Home.
