Suzanne, “Susie”, Main was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Susie left this world peacefully at home in Genoa Lakes surrounded by her family on August 11 at age of 88.
Susie was born to Frances and Ray Mead on May 20, 1935, in Peoria, Illinois where she was raised with her sister Jane and a brother Tony. After graduating from high school, Susie met her husband, Lew, in 1953. Susie and Lew were married in 1954 and were married for 69 years until her passing.
Together, they had three children: Jeff, Dianne, and Julie, who Susie adored. Susie used to say that she always wanted to be a mother and loved every minute of it. She was also blessed with four grandchildren: Allison, Gregor, Spencer, and Betsy; two great grandchildren: James and Gracie; a son-in-law, Paul, a daughter-in-law, Kathy, a grandson-in-law, Dave and a granddaughter-in-law, Danielle.
Susie loved spending time in the kitchen preparing delicious meals for family and friends. She enjoyed sharing her tasty baked goods as a thank you or to cheer someone up. Playing golf and gin rummy were favorite games during their retirement in Palm Springs, CA and Genoa.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 3:00 pm on August 25, 2023, at the Genoa Community Church, 182 Nixon Street, Genoa, Nevada. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Main’s home in Genoa Lakes immediately after the service.
