Karen Marie Cavnar
May 14, 1942 - August 3, 2023
A loving Wife & Mother, Karen Marie Cavnar sadly passed away on August 3, 2023 at the age of 81. Karen was born in Berkley, California and grew up in the Alameda/ Hayward areas. When she was 15, she would meet the love of her life, Donn who was 14 years old.
They were married the following year as she was 16 and Donn 15. Karen continued to live in the Bay area with her husband & 3 boys until 1967 when they moved to Lake Tahoe, a place she always dreamed of living. In 1972 they moved to Gardnerville. She loved spending time in the mountains, specifically the Hope Valley area and Woodslake off HWY 88. She enjoyed being at home with her dog, playing crosswords and other games, more importantly enjoyed spending time with Donn and her sons.
During the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas, regardless of how she was feeling, she would insist on cooking the dinners, they were always incredible. She will be dearly missed; she was the glue that held the family together. She is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years Donn, sons Layne (Natalie), Denny, and Mick (Monika) & grandchildren.
