Michael Walter Pollard

It is with overwhelming regret that we share the passing of Michael W. Pollard, a longtime resident of Carson City.
Michael passed away peacefully June 29, 2023, after ongoing struggles with kidney and heart disease.
After his service in the Air National Guard, Michael became a prominent accountant in the community for decades before retiring due to his failing eyesight.
Mike continued to be an active member of several organizations including Sertoma International and the Carson City Men’s Club.
Mike enjoyed music, especially Bluegrass. Mike loved tie-dye and collecting things. Until recently, Michael loved to travel to Branson Missouri and fell in love with Cowboy Church and its community, returning annually for his Midwest entertainment.
Mike may have been born in Texas but considered himself a true Nevadan and requested “Home Means Nevada” to be played every October.
Mike was lucky enough to love and be loved by two women who preceded him in death: Cathy Pollard in April of 2010, and Darlene Pollard in December of 2020.
Mike is survived by his son Robert and daughter Pamela, five, fun loving grandsons, his sisters Mary and Susan, and his brother James.
Services will be held at Walton’s Funeral Home; 1281 N. Roop St Carson City, NV Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10 am with a reception to follow.
