Nick Robidart

Nick Robidart, 44, of Gardnerville, NV, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Nick grew up in Pinole, CA, where he was a brave kid who played baseball and soccer and always needed stitches. He worked in various restaurants while he attended Pinole Valley High School and later received his bachelor’s degree in international relations from the
University of California, Santa Barbara. Living the dream, he moved to Lake Tahoe soon after college and became a ski patroller at Heavenly Ski Resort, where he could ski and play golf in his free time. He went on to rank third in his class at his paramedic school, the NCTI of Roseville.

Nick became a firefighter/paramedic at Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District in 2013 and was promoted to Engineer in 2018. Nick took great pride in being a fireman and paramedic in his community, often fighting wildfires throughout the Western United States.

His life was planned around his Summer and Fall absences. Nick loved being outside – hunting with his friends and dogs, Sissy, and Bud, listening to Waylon Jennings, and being on the lake and in the snow with his wife Rebecca and daughter Mary. Nick’s life changed
when he became a father and Mary instantly became the light of his life. “Papa” loved his little girl. To the rest of his family and friends, Nick was a man of few words, but they were always hilarious.

Nick was preceded in death by his father Phil Robidart, his grandparents Joe and Bre Alvarez, Marcel and Mary Robidart and his uncles Larry Alvarez and Sam Brunson.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Robidart, his daughter Mary, his mother Patty Robidart, brother John Robidart, sisters Emily Rooney, Julie Robidart, Katie Katz and Becky Acosta and Aunt Kathleen Robidart. “Tio Nick,” is survived by several nieces and nephews from Santa
Cruz, CA, to the UK.

Nick was taken by a very rare form of cancer that lacks resources to fight it in a meaningful way.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations Be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (https://cholangiocarcinoma.org) to support research efforts and to find innovative technologies to improve the lives of patients. A celebration of Nick’s life is being planned by Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District and his family.
